When I moved to Nashville 20 years ago to pursue a professional songwriting career, all I knew was that I was going to do it.

I didn’t know how.
I didn’t know when.
I just knew I wasn’t leaving to go back to WV with my tail tucked between my legs.

And I did it. I had my first cut, my first radio single, my first #1 song and my first Dove nomination before I even signed with a publisher.

Yes, I got knocked down. A lot.
But I wasn’t leaving.
So, I’d just lick the wounds and get back up.

It worked.

This is why one the pillars of my mindset coaching is Persistence.

When I began the obvious transition into coaching others, I found myself always coming back to the fact that we don’t give up.

No matter how hard it is, no matter how beaten up we get, we check back in with what is true and we get back to it.

My business had an oddly challenging week so last night I took myself to a coffee shop, grabbed a latte and stared out the window to get back to me.

I looked up at the sky and thought, “I know this is part of it, but I sure could use a sign right about now.”

Today, after a day of running around I checked my mailbox. This package from a client was in it. She made the soft cap and the calendar by hand–and the glitter eyeliner is obviously me for coaching days!

Her card read that our work is “totally changing my life.”

So, you’ve probably heard this one before, Y’all, but if you need a sign today, let this post be it.
